Maxidus Natural Male Enhancement

Maxidus is manufactured by a company called Biogulf in Malaysia.  According to the self proclaimed Maxidus Official Website it is a male sexual enhancement product that is a 100% herbal formula that starts working within 20 minutes and produces harder, longer lasting erections, enhances sex drive and desire, prolongs performance, and enhances sexual pleasure.  The goal of this product is to alleviate many of the symptoms of sexual dysfunction.  Another similar website claims “you’ll get more semen during ejaculation, more power, more penile hardness, and better ejaculatory control.”  Sounds good to me.  It also states that “you’ll be glad to know that Maxidus contains the exact same powerful ingredients as Libidus with an added Chinese herb called ‘Ku Gua’”.  I’m not so sure that having the same ingredients as Libidus is a good thing, but I’ll get back to that in a minute.

Ingredients:

Each capsule of Maxidus contains the following ingredients – Eurycoma Longifolia, Flos Catharmi, Rhizoma Curcurmae Longae, Ginko Biloba, Herba Epimedii, Herba Cistanches, Astragalus Membranaceus, and Momordica Charantia (Ku Gua).

Something to Consider:

The only difference between the former product, Libidus, and the new product, Maxidus, is the addition of Ku Gua.  This is significant because back in 2006, the FDA banned Libidus, and several other similar products (Zimax, Neophase, Nasutra, Vigor-25, Actra-Rx, and 4EVERON), stating that these are “illegal drugs that contain potentially harmful undeclared ingredients.”  The FDA went on to say that the banned products contained chemicals similar to those found in the prescription drugs Viagra and Levitra.  The FDA analyzed the products and determined that Zimaxx contained sildefafil, Viagra’s active ingredient, and that the other illegal products (Libidus included) contained chemical ingredients that were similar to either sildenafil or vardenafil, the active ingredient in Levitra.  One could easily view this fact as a positive, however, since those other products are known to work well.

Consumer responses to the use of Maxidus seem to be favorable although inconsistent, citing that it didn’t produce the same results every time and that the lead time for it to work varied between 30 – 90 minutes.

The final word on Maxidus:

I like the name Maxidus, it inspires visions of Roman gladiators and makes me feel like I could “joust” with my manhood.  When I tried Maxidus, the urge to drag wenches back to my room for servicing was overwhelming.  However, common sense and several restraining orders prevented me from doing that.  The bottom line is that is did ultimately work for me and what’s her name seemed to have a good time as well.  My only caution would be the legality of the product due to it’s checkered past with the FDA.

RockHard Weekend

(The Daily Supplement) The FDA notified consumers that RockHard Weekend by RockHard Laboratories, a product sold as an “all natural” male enhancement , contains sulfoaildenafil (an analogue of sildenafil found in Viagra) an FDA-approved DRUG used for the treatment for Erectile Dysfunction. SURPRIZE! The presence of sulfoaildenafil makes RockHard Weekend an unapproved drug and harmful to users that are unaware of interactions. This undeclared drug ingredient may interact with prescription drugs including nitrates like nitroglycerin, and cause dangerously low blood pressure. But if you die, at least they’ll have a handle to carry you out of the building with…

Seriously, what does a guy have to do to get a little “natural” stiffy around here without taking some fake Viagra?  This is the type of activity that “makes it hard” (pun intended) for reputable manufacturers to separate themselves from the scamsters.

RockHard Laboratories advises any customers in possession of RockHard Weekend to return any unused product for a full refund to the company directly.   Customers can call 1.800.562.0543 (yes its a real number) for instructions on the return and refund process.  I’m assuming the return process involves placement of the faulty erection into some kind of repository for eventual disposal.

RockHard Laboratories issued a statement that said they are committed to improving their product (new fake Viagra) and avoiding future recall (paying off the FDA?) issues by sourcing higher quality raw ingredients (hide it better) and expanding testing (by their cousin Vinny). Hard times for Stiff Nights

The Daily Supplement team found yet another FDA ban on so called “natural” male enhancement pills. Stiff Nights, manufactured by Impulsaria, LLC of Grand Rapids Michigan, the self proclaimed strongest and supposed “natural” male enhancement pill was pulled from shelves across the country today after the FDA warned consumers that Stiff Nights contains sulfoaildenafil, a chemical similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. Sulfoaildenafil may negatively interact with nitrates and other prescription drugs taken by heart patients and cause potentially fatal drops in blood pressure, the FDA said. The use of the drug in Stiff Nights makes the product an illegal and unapproved drug

Attempts by the Daily Supplement team to contact Mr. Green were unsuccessful. The real issue here is an assumed level of product safety by unknowing consumers. “Because this product is labeled as an ‘all natural dietary supplement,’ consumers may assume it is harmless and poses no health risk,” stated Deborah Autor, director of FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Office of Compliance. “In fact, this product is illegally marketed and can cause serious complications.”

Stamina Rx Banned by FDA

June 15, 2009 – Norcross, GA – Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Hi-Tech”), 6015-B Unity Dr., Norcross, GA 30071, announced today that it is conducting a nationwide voluntary recall of the company’s product sold under the name Stamina-Rx.

On May 1, 2009, Hi-Tech was notified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that FDA’s lab analysis of one lot of Stamina-Rx samples found that the product contained the undeclared ingredient − benzamidenafil − a Phosphodiesterase Type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. The lot number found to contain benzamidenafil is Lot 08141578, Exp. 9/10. Benzamidenafil is in the same therapeutic class of active pharmaceutical ingredients that include the PDE5 inhibitors sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil, that are FDA-approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). Benzamidenafil is not FDA-approved, and poses a threat to consumers because benzamidenafil may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates and may be most susceptible to adverse effects from this product.

Stamina-Rx is sold predominantly in health food and drug stores nationwide. The product is sold in 10, 30, and 40-tablet bottles and in 2 and 6-tablet blister packs.

In addition to the one lot described above, Hi-Tech is recalling all other lots of Stamina-Rx because it is an unapproved new drug and misbranded new drug in violation of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (the Act). FDA notified Hi-Tech that, based on certain labeling claims made by the firm, Stamina-Rx is a drug as defined in the Act. Stamina-Rx is not generally recognized as safe and effective for use under the conditions prescribed, recommended, or suggested in its labeling. The labeling at issue was not on bottles of Stamina-Rx, but was contained in certain web-based and print media.

Hi-Tech has been under a Consent Decree of Permanent Injunction with FDA since September 23, 2003. In accordance with the Decree, FDA determined that additional corrective actions were necessary for Hi-Tech to achieve compliance with the Act and the Decree and therefore, on May 1, 2009 FDA ordered Hi-Tech to recall all lots of Stamina-Rx to the consumer level.
